Durable Power of Attorney for Finances and Health Care
By naming a professional fiduciary in these documents, Bishop Fiduciary Services, LTD. can step in and handle financial and medical matters when clients are no longer able. As health care agent, we work with clients’ physicians and other health care providers to make sure they receive the medical care to provide the highest quality of life. When arranging care, we are legally bound to follow client treatment preferences. As a financial agent, we assume the financial responsibilities including paying bills, filing tax returns, managing investments, as well as making sure clients take their RMD from their retirement accounts.
Representative Payee
We will receive government benefits for clients to make sure they are received on a timely basis and used to pay client expenses.
Conservatorship
Most clients with a well-crafted trust with powers of attorney and an advanced health care directive do not need a conservatorship should they become permanently incapacitated. Bishop Fiduciary Services, LTD. will step in and act as conservator when a client can no longer live safely without added legal protections.
Some families will experience a crisis in caring for a loved one. There might be allegations of financial or physical abuse by others. Or a client has a medical condition that makes it very difficult for the family to manage. We arrange services for an individual based on their values and needs. We are legally obligated to make the types of decisions a client would make for him or herself.
